Andrew has over 25 year’s experience as a banker and investor. Andrew began his career with the English investment bank Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong. He then went onto join JP Morgan covering Asian cash equities. Andrew then furthered his career when he joined Westpac, where he ran structured products for their private bank, then portfolio management in their asset management division. Andrew finished banking with National Australia Bank – NAB, where he was the General Manager (HK) overseeing retail, private banking, asset management, SME, commercial banking and wealth management.
Andrew is now a partner in a Chinese private Equity firm focused on commodities and energy investments. Andrew sits on the firm’s investee company boards and oversees acquisition and divestment strategies.
With nearly three decades of financial experience he has covered front office trading, sales, mid office risk and compliance functions and product launch and management operations. Andrew has direct business know how of a wide product range including equities, foreign exchange, structured products, cash and derivatives (vanilla, structured and exotics), lending structures, portfolio management and leadership. Andrew has lead the introduction of two major compliance reforms in Australia and Asia, and dealt with regulators, compliance lawyers, and designed training programs for the regime’s implementation.
As an instructor he has taught investments, M&A, and advanced modelling techniques for International and local banks around the APAC region. He is also adjunct faculty at Australia’s #1 ranked MBA, Macquarie University, where he teaches MBA economics and investment management and he is the lead faculty member for the Australian Institute of Company Director’s where teaches financial governance to listed company directors across Asia.
