From its humble beginnings, the UCL Finance Conference has now established itself as one of the biggest and most prestigious student run finance conferences across EMEA. AMT Training were proud to attend the 10th anniversary of the UCL Finance Conference.  This event has served  as a vibrant and educative platform since its inception, connecting ambitious students with industry leaders, through a day of keynote speeches, activities and networking sessions.

Valuation Workshop

Justin Thomas, senior trainer at AMT Training, delivered a 60 minute seminar introducing the key concepts of corporate valuation. The session covered comparables valuation and discounted cashflow (DCF), the two main techniques used everyday by professionals who work in M&A, private equity, equity research and active equity buy-side asset managers. Justin used real life case studies throughout the seminar and touched on some of the more subjective challenges that face financial professionals.

UCL Vice President Pavel Mishin commented,

“At the 2018 UCL Finance Conference, we had the great pleasure of hosting Justin Thomas who delivered an introductory financial modeling workshop on behalf of AMT Training. This was the highlight of the day for many of our delegates, as it gave them a practical insight into valuation and financial modeling through an interactive, hands-on training session. Our delegates found the workshop very engaging and highly informative, which is why we would be delighted to host AMT Training again at our future events!”
