The LSE Investment Banking Conference

The LSE Investment Banking Conference is EMEA’s largest student run conference on Investment Banking. This is where ambitious students from across Europe looking to break into this highly competitive industry, connect and develop a network for the future. Through the exchange of knowledge between delegates, keynote speakers and prominent faces in the industry, future finance professionals come away with an enhanced business network. This conference, equips delegates with an insight into the finance industry, a platform for their own personal growth and stronger career prospects.

Our partnership with the LSE IBC

Our partnership involved developing and managing an M&A case study competition for the conference delegates. The competition would see teams analyse an M&A deal and submit a short presentation summarising their anlaysis. Prizes were also awarded to the top three teams.

During the conference, Jolle Wever, Managing Director of AMT Training, gave a briefing on the case study and also talked on the technical aspects surrounding M&A (e.g. valuation) before the prize awarding ceremony.

M&A case study competition winners

The competition entries were of a very high standard. The teams that entered, had put in a great deal of time and effort, senior trainer Stephen Herlihy commented “it’s great to see so much passion and dedication from so many young finance professionals”. The eventual winners were the Chocolate Gurus, see above for two of the team with AMT Client Service Manager, Dwayne Johnson Cox.

The winning team attended one of our public courses and commented that they found it useful and would benefit them as they continued their studies at the LSE.

” proved extremely enriching, especially when discussing case studies, current affairs or other practical applications of the theory. Of course, MS Excel – the major tool in Finance – played a major role in the course. “
