Matthew began his career at PwC in the Valuations Division after graduating from the University of Auckland. At PwC he worked on a number of transactions in the utilities, food & agriculture and retail sectors. In 2000 he moved to London where he worked for Daiwa SMBC in their FIG M&A division. He worked on a number of M&A transactions including the privatization of Banca Comerciala Romana which was sold to Erste Bank for EUR3.75 billion.

Matthew has trained since 2009, specializing in corporate finance, company valuation, financial institutions, and modeling. Matthew has designed corporate finance and asset management graduate programs for banks in Asia and Europe. Within FIG, he has designed and delivered bank valuation and regulatory capital courses for M&A, strategy, finance and senior management in Europe, Asia, America, Middle East and Africa.
